East Coweta team takes second at Carrollton meet

The East Coweta swimming Indians competed at the Carrollton eigth annual High School Invitational on November 30th and December 1st. The progress of the team was incredible. The Indians had 17 individual swimmers who swam their fastest races at this meet. Phoebe Paredes, freshman, dropped the most time with 13.64 seconds. Mailet Aguirie dropped 10.25 seconds.

The Indians had many star performers. The Boys 4x100 Free Relay team of Jamie Wright, Andrew Pepper, Jake O’Brien and Robert Angsten qualifies for the state competition with a time of 3:37.41, and scored a second place finish for the team. Robert Angsten placed 1st in the Boys 50 Free with a time of 24.15. Jake O’Brien placed 2nd in the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.97. And Weston Dean placed 2nd in the Boys 500 Free with the time of 6:08.99.

The 3rd place finishers were: Robert Angsten Boys 100 Back with a 1:02.21, Jamie Wright in the Boys 100 Free with a 52.49, Weston Dean in the Boys 200 Free with a 2:10.21, Myranda Kralman in the Girls 200 Free with a 2:08.95, Alex Kralman in the Girls 100 Fly with a 1:09.50 and Connor Ford in the Boys 100 Fly with a time of 1:04.72.

The Indians placed 2nd in the meet with the combined score of 103 points. The Girls team placed 5th with 28 points. The Boys team placed 2nd with 75 points.
