Panther boys make semis of tourney

The Starr’s Mill Panthers varsity boys basketball team have made the semi-finals of the Ft. Walton Beach Blast basketball tournament. They won their first two games and made the semi-final game on Thursday evening after the paper went to press.

The Panthers outlasted Rocky Bayou, Fla. 42-41 on Tuesday with Mark Harris hitting the game-winning basket with just over one second remaining. Nathan Wester led the way for Starr’s Mill with 12 points and five rebounds, while Harris netted 11 points. On Wednesday, Starr’s Mill defeated Crestview, Fla. 55-48. Harris led the team in scoring with 18 points, while Bo Tiller and Kerwin Fenn each chipped in nine points and Spencer Shelton added 8 points and 13 rebounds.
