Chili challenge raffle winners get new wheels

Line Creek Civitan Club publicity coordinator Pete Fritts happily presented Rick and Pam Atkinson, of Peachtree City, with the keys to their new EZGo Golf Cart. The Atkinsons won the cart as the grand prize for the 2007 Great Chili Challenge raffle.

Fayette Piedmont Hospital, represented by Julia and McCall Chapman, took away first place for Judges’ Choice, while Exceptional Operations took second.

The People's Choice top award went to Pelle Belly's Chili, the top vote getter for Best Professional Category was Peachtree City’s Taco Mac, Two Men & A Pot came away with the award for Best Decorated Booth and Pelle Belly's Chili was named the Most Original Chili Recipe.

This year’s fund raiser featured two new categories for youth entries. The award for the Best Youth Chili for grades 5-8 went to Peachtree City Boy Scout Troop #211 while the award for Best Youth Chili for grades 9-12 went to the Woodward Academy Circle "W" Wrestling Club.

The 2007 Chili Challenge, held Nov. 3, raised nearly $7,000 to support local community projects.
