Fred S. Winans, Peachtree City, died Sept. 6, 2007. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy as a Seabee. He was a quarterback of his high school football team, had played semi-pro baseball, and made a hole-in-one at Planterra Ridge Golf Course in November, 2003, at the age of seventy five. He had worked with Cartier of North America, and was retired as vice president of sales at Hamilton Watch Company. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Stephen Soulen officiating. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janet Eck Winans, Peachtree City, formerly of Harrisburg, Pa.; children, Karen Lynn Winans, Denver, Colo., Lisa Gibbs, Eden Prairie, Minn., Fritz Winans, Hong Kong, and Scott Winans, Parkland, Fla. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
