Ruby Self Akins, 92, Fayetteville, died Dec. 23, 2005. She was born Aug. 14, 1913. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Akins. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dennis Watson officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. Survivors include her children, Ray Akins, Gloria and Jack Patterson, Charles and Sandra Akins, Ward and Patricia Akins, Peggy and Alan Baker, and Wayne and Jean Akins; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
