2006 Fayette idol winner brings home top honors

Krysta Nick, the 2006 Fayette Idol winner, was presented top honors for Vocalist of the Year and Enterrainer of the Year this past weekend, by the Georgia Country Music and Gospal Association in Dalton, Georgia. Nick also co-opened for Chris Young, the 2006 Nashville Star winner.

Winning these prestigious awards earned Nick the right to perform in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. at the Country Tonight Theater and compete with aspiring artists from North, East, South, West United States, Canada, New Zealand and Argentina for trophies and prizes.

Proud to be a Fayette County citizen, Nick has represented Fayette County as a state finalist in The Colgate Country Showdown National Competition, a difficult feat at 10 years old, competing in an open age group competition.

The Fayette Idol competition has been a great stepping stone for Nick and she enjoys performing for her hometown neighbors. She has established short and long term goals and looks forward to assembling her band in the next few weeks. Look for Krysta Nick and the Gopher Broke Band soon.

Krysta and Friends will be performing Christmas tunes of the holidays at The Avenue in Peachtree City, December 23. Please check her "MySpace/krystalovestosing" site for upcoming performances and hours.
