Jack E. Powers, 87, Peachtree City, died Dec. 23, 2005. He was born Oct. 2, 1918 in Coweta County, Ga. He was the son of James and Elizabeth Powers. He was retired from Southern Railroad. Graveside services were today at the Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Bingham and the Rev. Frank Powers officiating. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Powers, Peachtree City; a son, Brian Powers, Fayetteville; granddaughters, Mariah Harper, and Vanessa Powers, both of Fayetteville; and sisters, Mary McCollum, Newnan, and Sue Bishop, Smyrna. Memorial donations may be made to the Peachtree City First Baptist Church Library, 208 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
