Peachtree City will ring in the holiday with the annual Hometown Holiday event on Saturday, Dec. 1 with activities at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater and at City Hall Plaza. This event is sponsored by Dogwood Church and Peachtree City.

At 6 p.m., Christmas at the Fred will begin at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater with a musical program featuring local musicians, dancers and actors from Dogwood Church. After the concert, join Mayor Logsdon and Santa Claus as they lead the Trail of Lights golf cart procession from the Fred to City Hall Plaza from 7:30 to 8 p.m.

Everyone is invited to follow Santa in their cart from the amphitheater to City Hall along the east shore of Lake Peachtree or meet at City Hall Plaza. Around 8 p.m., Mayor Logsdon will light the Grand Christmas Tree at City Hall. Santa will be available to hear Christmas wishes from all the children present.

“The holidays are a special time of year and we try to make it fun for the whole family,” said event coordinator Ashley Alonso. “We encourage all residents to help the Real Life Center by donating canned goods or non-perishable food items to assist our community in giving to the less fortunate.”

Collections will be made at the door. The Real Life Center is a non-profit organization designed to provide help for hurting people by giving them a means to cope with the financial, emotional, and spiritual hardships of life.

“This time of year is about sharing and giving. I cannot think of a better way to do so than by helping the less fortunate,” stated Alonso.
