Christian City is seeking out holiday helpers with a heart for children and seniors. Christian City is a nonprofit, nondenominational organization located in Union City that serves the entire state of Georgia, with most of their 1,000-plus residents coming from the Southern Crescent area. With an emphasis on community and well being, Christian City cares for abandoned and abused children in a family centered environment.

Children live with full time house parents in cottages and are given all the love, food, clothing, education and healthcare needed to enable them to grow up to become successful adults. Christian City sits on a beautiful 500 acre campus where active seniors, seniors on limited income, those who need assisted living, convalescent care and those who suffer from Alzheimer's Disease can live a full life.

Throughout the year, especially during the holiday season, community involvement is appreciated and vital. Gift cards to area businesses such as Kroger, Publix, Target, Wal-Mart are helpful as well as canned and boxed food items, turkeys, hams, cereal, toilet tissue and paper goods. One easy way for groups to help is to create angel trees where each person takes the name of a child or a senior to sponsor for Christmas.

Volunteer opportunities are endless when working to provide a magical holiday season for those less fortunate. For more information, to volunteer or to make a donation, please call 770-703-2636 or access www.christiancity.org.
