Carl James Brewer Sr., 87, Fayetteville, died Oct. 27, 2007. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Finley Brewer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Southwest Pacific area. He was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration with 32 years of service as an electronic engineer. He specialized in Radar and Microwave program engineering. He was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, had served on the administrative board and was treasurer of the Discipleship Sunday School class. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was a charter member of the South Metro Rose Society.

Services were at the Fayetteville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland and the Rev. Claude Smithmeir officiating. Interment was at the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, Laurens, S. C. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Hunter Brewer, Fayetteville; a son, Carl J. and Teresa Brewer Jr., Ballground; a daughter, Sue and Ken Satterfield, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Austin Satterfield, C. J. Brewer, Danny Brewer, Anna Grace Brewer, Mike Satterfield, Jen Satterfield, and Michelle Jeter; great-grandchildren, Noah Satterfield, Ethan Satterfield, and Abigayle Satterfield, and Eric Jetter; stepchildren, Donald Hunter, Cedartown, Jerry Hunter, Gainesville, Suzanne Atcheson, Cordele, Stephen Hunter, Fayetteville, and Rebecca Hunter-Burnett, Newnan. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
