What do you get when you mix five accomplished actors, some 15 stories, and an audience of adults at a popular restaurant? A memorable evening of laughter and enjoyment in an intimate setting. On Saturday, Nov. 10, Tyrone’s Boxcar Café is offering a hilarious show, a multi-course dinner and a chance for patrons to tell the actors what to do as Offshoot Productions’ improvisation team tackles “Fairy Tales for Grownups.” “The actors need courage because many of the scenes are unscripted,” explained Offshoot artistic director Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D. “The audience assigns characters, subject matter, phrases and more which the actors must weave into a coherent whole. In some cases, audience members are even invited to join the performers.” Tyrone’s Boxcar Café is located at 865 Senoia Road in the heart of the town. Tickets for the dinner theatre event, $25 each, may be purchased at the restaurant during its hours of operation, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, charged by phone at 770-486-8931 or purchased online at www.offshoot.org. The play is intended for adults only. For additional information on the show, contact Offshoot at 770-631-2362 or offshootpr@aol.com or log onto www.offshoot.org. Offshoot Productions, entering its 15th consecutive season, is the Southside's longest-running professional theatre. login to post comments |
