Elizabeth Leigh Belcher and Scott Charles Shelton were married Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Calvary Baptist Church in Abbeville, Ala. Dr. Eugene Tyre conducted the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Belcher of Abbeville, Ala. She is the granddaughter of the late David Gamble and Cassie Gamble of Headland, Ala., and the late Glen Belcher and Florine Belcher of Abbeville. The groom is the son of James C. (Bud) Shelton of Tyrone and Mrs. Penny Moore of Fayetteville. He is the grandson of the late Charlie and Doris Walker of Fayetteville and Mr. and Mrs. James W. Shelton of Duluth. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a strapless A-line satin gown adorned with crystals, pearls and beads, which featured a satin, chapel length train. Her veil was two-tiered and attached to a headpiece adorned with pearls and crystals. She carried a bouquet of roses, orange alstrameria, white and yellow daisies, chrysanthemum poms, purple sinuatice, purple limonium, and sunset orange gerber daisies, tied with white satin ribbon. Mrs. Amy E. Barker of Webb, Ala., friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Serving as maid of honor was Melissa Raby of Birmingham Ala., college friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Shelly S. Allen of Sharpsburg, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Kimberly A. Belcher of Headland, Ala., sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Chandler Allen of Sharpsburg, niece of the groom. Flower girls were Tatum Allen of Sharpsburg, niece of the groom, and Caroline Belcher of Headland, niece of the bride. The groom’s best man was his father. Groomsmen were David Millican of Fayetteville, friend of the groom; Sidney Belcher of Headland, brother of the bride; and Mike Trombley of Dallas, Ga., friend of the groom. Junior groomsman was Colby Dansby of Abbeville, Ala., friend of the bride. Ring bearer was Chase Allen of Sharpsburg, nephew of the groom. Music was provided by pianist Ronnie Marshall, organist Judy Marshall, and soloist Beth Owen. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the Calgary Baptist Church fellowship hall. The groom’s parents entertained the wedding party with a rehearsal dinner, also held in the church fellowship hall. The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and now resides in Gainesville. login to post comments |
