The dangers and benefits of social networking on web sites such as MySpace, Facebook, SecondLife and YouTube will be discussed at a seminar hosted by Cornerstone United Methodist Church at Thomas Crossroads in Newnan on Monday, Nov. 12 from 7 – 8 p.m.

Guest speaker and youth minister Nick Morgan will speak to parents, teachers, youth leaders and anyone else interested in learning more about the topic. The session is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

The content will be centered on Christian values as the speakers explain social networking and what adults’ roles can be to help youth better navigate these web sites safely. Morgan will illustrate how these sites can fit with Christian culture. A question and answer period will follow.

Morgan is the youth pastor at Sandersville UMC in Sandersville and has made presentations at several United Methodist conferences and meetings in middle Georgia.

The seminar is sponsored by the Cornerstone Outreach Committee and is open to everyone. The church is on Ga. Hwy. 154, near the intersection of Ga. Hwys. 154 and 34 at Thomas Crossroads.
