Pitcher of the year - Morgan Kidd, McIntosh

Signing a scholarship to attend and play softball for Boston College next week, a decision she had made earlier this season, Kidd focused on getting her team to the state playoffs and she dominated opponents during the season. She went 15-5 with an ERA of 0.08. She gave up 16 earned runs in 136 innings, allowing only 54 hits and 23 walks while striking out 259 batters.

Player of the year - Lauren Willamon, Whitewater

Willamon, the Lady Wildcats’ catcher, batted .366 this season with 37 hits and 16 RBIs this season. A junior, Willamon, who led the team in doubles and had a slugging percentage of .485, was also the battery mate for a young but powerful pitching staff.

Coach of the year - Lisa Pearce, Sandy Creek

In the week before the region tournament, Sandy Creek lost to region rival McIntosh and then fell to Central, Carroll at home on their senior night. After that, they went 10-4 and made it to the championship game in the Class AAA state tournament, the furthest any Sandy Creek softball team has ever made it. The team accomplished this feat with only two seniors on the squad and not a lot of power. Pearce got the most from her players thoroughout the year and led them to the greatest season in school history.
