Peachtree City’s annual Hometown Holiday event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1. This annual event is sponsored by Dogwood Church and Peachtree City. There is no better way to ring in the holiday season than with your family.

Hometown Holiday begins with a concert of Christmas favorites, Christmas at the Fred, at the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater, performed by local musicians, dancers and actors. This concert time is from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

After the concert, Mayor Harold Logsdon will lead Santa in a golf cart procession down the Trail of Lights.

Everyone is invited to follow Santa in their carts from the amphitheater to City Hall along the east shore of Lake Peachtree.

Around 8 p.m., Mayor Logsdon will light the Grand Christmas Tree at City Hall. Here children will be able to visit with Santa.

Ashley Alonso, event coordinator, says, “This is a wonderful free event for the family. It is a great way to ring in the holiday season.”

One thing we encourage all residents to do is to help the Real Life Center by donating canned goods or non-perishable food items to assist our community in giving to the less fortunate. Collections will be made at the door.

The Real Life Center is a non-profit organization designed to provide help for hurting people by giving them a means to cope with the financial, emotional, and spiritual hardships of life. “The holiday season is about sharing and giving and I cannot think of a better way to do so,” says Alonso.
