The Fayette County High School drama department will present Sandi Wilson’s musical “The Boyfriend”this weekend at F.A. Sam’s Auditorium in Fayetteville.

“The Boyfriend” is an interesting look at young love in the impressionable, yet innocent, 1920s. Set in France after WWI, the show travels from Madame Dubonnett’s Finishing School in Nice to the Riviera for the Carnavale Ball. The young and impressionable Polly Browne is being played by Lindsay Grant, a senior this year who is the president of the Thespian Society and a member of the Select Chorus. Her partner Tony is played by Marcus Rodriguez, also a senior and a member of the Select Chorus.

The show is being produced and directed by Fred Bobbitt, head of the high school’s drama department. Performances are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door or $7 with a canned food item.

Families are invited to enjoy the show together as the material is family-friendly.
