Richard Leland Jones, 57, Newnan, died Oct. 22, 2007. He was born Aug. 5, 1950 in Atlanta, son of Jammie H. and Daisy Lamar Jones. He was a firefighter with the City of Atlanta for 25 years until his retirement in 2000. Memorial services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with Chris North officiating. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Byrd Jones, Newnan; children, Norman Tyler Jones, Tyrone, and Anna "Micki" Byrnes, Senoia; siblings, Thomas Jones, Palmetto, and Joel Jones, Cedar Bluff, Ala.; and a grandchild, Sophia Joyce Byrnes. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 N. W. 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd., Miami, FL 33136. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
