Auto Basics Class

Mark Hannah will hold an Auto Basics Class from 9 am-3 pm at the Fayette County Community School today and again March 4, April 15 and May 13. The class is intended for new drivers, students with learning permits and scouts working on merit badges. The class is designed to teach new drivers how to take care of their car, how to recognize problems, and how to handle emergencies. The class will cover routine maintenance; basic knowledge of safety tools, emergencies, changing a flat tire, jump starting a car, and what to do if you lock the keys in the car; operating systems of the automobile: engine, drive train, transmissions (manual & automatic), electrical systems, lubrication system, fuel system, suspension, cooling system, and the air conditioning system. The class also includes a hands on clinic where we go over each students car in the parking lot. The class also meets requirements for the Boy Scouts auto mechanics merit badge.
