The Rev. Calvin Smith and his wife, Judy,led their final service at Abundant Life Worship Center on Ga. Hwy. 74 last Sunday.

The Smiths founded Abundant Life Church of God in November of 1987, first meeting in a day care center, then a store front, then a small church facility in Union City, and finally in their own church north of Tyrone, built in 1991 and occupied in 1992.

“The Lord has blessed our ministry,” Smith said. “We have so many wonderful friends and members that have come our way over the past 20 years. It will not be easy leaving, but we feel this is the Lord’s direction for our life and for Abundant Life Worship Center. We express our love and appreciation to everyone.”

Smith said his plans for the future included “evangelizing.”
