Vote & Vax on November 6

The Atlanta Regional Commission Area Agency on Aging and Fayette Senior Services is hosting its annual election day “Vote & Vax” flu shot program on Nov. 6, at various polling places throughout Fayette County. Flu shots are free for Medicare Part B participants and $25 for all other individuals. Residents do not have to vote to get a flu shot.

Participating locations and times are as follows: First Baptist Church of Tyrone from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Peachtree City Library from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and from 3 p.m.-7 p.m., Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and from 4 p.m.-7 p.m., Peachtree City Christian Church from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and from 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Christ our Shepherd Lutheran Church from 2:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., Fayette County Library from 12 p.m.-5 p.m., Lafayette Educational Center from 8 a.m.-Noon and Peachtree City United Methodist Church from 8 a.m.-Noon.

Fayette Senior Services is also offering flu shots at its 8th annual Health and Wellness Fair on Nov. 1 at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville from 9 a.m. to Noon. Attendees can take advantage of getting health screenings such as blood pressure, bone density and glucose testing. Medical referrals for mammograms and colorectal testing will also be offered and GeorgiaCares will be available to answer Medicare questions. Area businesses will showcase a wide variety of health and wellness related products and services and guests can enjoy a healthy snack bar and door prizes.
