Palmetto lost a long-time public safety official Oct. 23 with the passing of Assistant Police Chief Fred Waddell. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Waddell’s law enforcement career spanned 35 years, with more than 20 years in service in Palmetto. “Fred was a contributor to the law enforcement profession and as asset to the police services of Palmetto and most specifically to my office of Chief of Police,” Fronebarger said. “We grieve with the family.” Also commenting on Waddell’s passing were Fulton County Fire Station 15 firefighters Mike Laster, Robbie Waits, Billie Green and Ralph Emerson. “Fred was a great guy and dedicated public servant,” they said. “We have many fond memories of him from our time in Palmetto. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.” Funeral services were conducted Oct. 26 at Parrott Funeral Home. login to post comments |
