The 2006 bond issue designed to upgrade some of Union City’s roadways received two more approvals Oct. 16, with the city council approving $346,407 in project expenditures. The council approved a $218,772 contract by low bidder Stewart Brothers Paving Contractors, Inc. to complete work on Old Jonesboro Road, Charles Street, Buffington Road, Oak Street and Eidson Trail. The Doraville-based contractor will install an asphaltic concrete overlay, pavement markers and traffic stripes. Also approved for Marietta-based C.W. Matthews Contracting Company, Inc. was a $127,635 contract for similar work on Westbrook Road, Brice Street and Stonewall Tell Road. login to post comments |
