Last Friday night the Landmark War Eagles saw their six year region winning streak snapped in front of a stunned home crowd as they loss to fifth ranked Fellowship Christian Academy 24-17.

The contest was close all night and the Landmark offense and defense just didn't make as many big plays as their opponents.

Landmark took their opening drive and marched down inside the Fellowship 10 yard line, but the drive was stalled as Fellowship came up with a big interception in the endzone. Senior running back Walter Lenard kept the War Eagles close by amassing 146 yards of total offense and accounted for both of the offensive scores. Defensively, the War Eagles seemed to be off balance all night and lost the ball control battle. Junior safety Blake Wyatt led the team with 13 total tackles, while the three man front of Vinnie Hutcherson, Brock Pollard, and Josh Gebhardt combined for 19 tackles including seven tackles for losses.

The War Eagles look to bounce back from their first region loss this Friday night at Homecoming against the Mt. Pisgah Patriots in another Region 5-A contest.
