An Oct. 17 bank robbery at the Bank of America branch at Ga. Highway 138 and Old National Highway left one robber dead at the scene and Fulton County Police searching for two others in a get-away vehicle. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the search for the two suspects. The dead man was identified as 30 year-old William Zil, Jr., according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office. The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. when Zil was shot by a security guard inside the bank, said Fulton Police Capt. Bryan Weaver. Zil exited the bank after being shot and died outside, Weaver said. Fulton Police, assisted for several hours by Fayette County deputies, searched the area for two suspects believed to be in a Jeep Cherokee, thought to be a get-away vehicle for Zil. Weaver said police do not have a description of the men or the vehicle. Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact Det. Weaver at (404) 699-4210. login to post comments |
