Move over, “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” and “Trading Spaces,” there’s a new player in town.

The Home Source Realtors, the top-producing real estate company in Fayette and Coweta counties, is now offering designed to sell/home staging services through its partnership with Splendid Source Home Services, a Fayetteville-based home staging company.

“Builders have been doing this for decades in the form of a model home,” said Janeece Swainey, executive vice president of The Home Source Realtors. “Now, it is time apply that same level of thinking to the resale of homes as well.”

Home staging utilizes proven design-to-sell techniques that will increase the sales potential of a home. Splendid Source’s home staging professionals will use the homeowner’s existing furniture, as well as a few selected Splendid Source accent pieces, to assist potential buyers visualize the home that could possibly be their future home.”

Home staging is beginning to gain momentum across the country, and according to an April 2003 Wall Street Journal article, “Staging speeds up sales in a sluggish market and can bump up prices to 2-10 percent in a moderate market.”

Rhonda Steger, CEO of Splendid Source Home Services concurs. “We have proven time after time that staged homes tend to sell faster and for a higher price than houses that have not been staged,” said Steger.

The partnership with Splendid Source provides more for The Home Source customers than just staging. They also offer one-day makeover services, move-in and contractor referral service.
