Brownie Troop 548 of Peachtree City display the cookie cake they had as part of the 9/11 memorial service they held last month at Luther Glass Memorial Park in Peachtree City. The troop is comprised of eight third-grade girls from Braelinn Elementary School, including Lindsey Jackson, Cassidy Powell, Avery Grillo, Kristen Stogner, McKenzie Artman, Jennifer Linville, Angela Ricketts and Aelise Gagliano. The troop leader is Anne Jackson and the co-leader is Brenda Powell. The Brownies were only 2 years old when the attacks occurred, so the troop leaders decided it was important to educate the girls about the tragedy and to honor all of those who lost their lives on that day. At the memorial the troop discussed the tragedy and its affects, read a poem, prayed and released red, white and blue balloons in honor and remembrance of the heroes of 9/11.
