Fairburn Police are looking for an armed robber that held up the Citgo convenience store at Ga. Highway 74 and Milam Road Oct. 9.

Fairburn Det. Ben Pace described the robber as a black male, approximately 5’10” in height and weighing approximately 160 pounds. Witnesses said the man wore a black/dark blue sweat-type “hoodie” and tan pants, said Pace. The robber was wearing a make-shift beige or tan mask with handmade eye holes and woe rubber gloves. He was armed with what was believed to be a .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun, Pace said.

Pace said the man entered the convenience store and approached the store’s employee after telling three customers to step aside. Saying to the employee, “This is not a joke,” the man handed over a bag for the money, said Pace. The man fled after the employee put an undisclosed amount of cash into the bag, Pace said.

Police said the man, fleeing on foot across Milam Road to the south, entered a vehicle parked along the newly constructed Blackjack Boulevard behind Bank of Georgia. Witnesses described the vehicle as a black 2000-2004 Ford Explorer with tan or beige running boards, silver pin striping along the length of the vehicle and extremely dark window tint, Pace said. The vehicle headed north on Hwy. 74.

Pace said some of the circumstances involved in the incident led investigators to believe the man has been involved in other armed robberies.
