The Fayette Family YMCA will host Family Mystery Spectacular, a family Halloween event, on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the YMCA, 215 Huiet Road, Fayetteville. This event features ghost storyteller Ray Greene and kicks off a Reading Tree Literacy campaign. The afternoon includes pumpkin carving, story telling, book collection and a costume parade.

The costume parade is scheduled to begin promptly at 2:15 p.m. Family and group units are encouraged to enter in addition to individual entries.

Storytelling will begin at 3 p.m with Greene, who will share childhood stories and make up a few of his own. Greene’s stories are fun and entertaining for the whole family.

Pumpkin carving allows children to design their own artistic expressions with no cleanup for mom or dad. Pumpkins and supplies are being provided by sponsors Harry Norman Realtors, Rotary Club of Peachtree City and Macauley Company.

Families are asked to bring children’s books as a donation for the Reading Tree Literacy Campaign kickoff. This effort collects books donated by the public into collection bins with redistribution to youth charities. For ongoing book donations a collection bin will be located at the YMCA Play Park.

For additional information on this free event or to RSVP, contact the YMCA at 770-719-9622 by Oct. 16.
