An alert citizen may have helped Fayetteville police prevent the theft of items from cars parked at the Tinseltown movie theater last week.

The woman called 911, reporting that three men were walking in the parking lot Thursday evening “attempting to enter cars,” police said.

Several officers who responded to the scene saw three men walking through the parking lot “pulling on door handles” of various cars, said Lt. Beverly Trainor of the Fayetteville Police Department. But when officers approached, the three men said they were leaving business cards on car windshields, and they denied trying to enter any of the vehicles, Trainor added.

The three suspects, who were each charged with loitering, were:

• Chaddrick Tarez Wells, 19, of Graves Road, Fayetteville.

• John Kristoffer Manching, 18, of Prestwick Lane, Peachtree City.

• Osei Chijoke Coleman, 19, of Sun Valley Court, Riverdale.

Detectives are trying to determine if any of the three can be tied to other entering auto cases reported in the city.
