Fayette Coweta Family Theatre (FCFT) will perform Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” this weekend with fifty-three adults, teens and preteens among the cast.

The cast was selected to bring this story to life from open auditions that enjoyed an attendance of well over 150 people.

“The talent represented was absolutely amazing,” said FCFT artistic director, Tammy Barton. “All those cast from Belle and the Beast down to the smallest fork can sing, dance and act. They are all triple threats. There is not a weak link in the bunch. We are so lucky to have this cast. Audiences will be blown away.”

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is the full Broadway production and features the award-winning score by Howard Ashman, Alan Menken and Tim Rice. FCFT is pulling out all the stops for this show with amazing sets, elegant Disney costumes, professional sound and lighting and three choreographers working to stage the huge musical numbers that are so famous in the show. The production is certainly the most ambitious of FCFT’s history with a production budget of well over $25,000.

FCFT’s production of “Beauty and the Beast” opened at the F.A. Sams Auditorium in Fayetteville on Thursday and will continue on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
