Newell Edwin “Eddie” Brummitt, 78, Fayetteville, died Dec. 16, 2005. He was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Bellaire, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Brummitt, and a daughter, Tamy Brummitt, both had been residents of Fayetteville. He had been a member of the Yaarab Shrine and the South Fulton Shrine Club for more than 33 years. He also initiated the America Flag of ‘76 unit. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Graham, Jonesboro; a granddaughter, Ashley Brummitt, Fayetteville; a special friend of 57 years, Carolyn Hurst, Fayetteville; a brother, W. O. Brummitt, Dalton; and a sister, Frances McCord Durkit, Fairburn. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
