PTC Christian to host Friend Days
Peachtree City Christian Church will celebrate Friend Day weekend Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7. A barbecue meal will be served after the Saturday 5 p.m. Café Worship service and after the 10 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday services. A children’s carnival will begin at noon on Sunday. Fayetteville Christian plans barbecue Oct. 6
Fayetteville Christian Church will host a barbecue and bake sale Saturday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., with proceeds going towards mission trips. Square Foot Ministry will have a yard sale at the same time. The cost is $5 per plate and includes pork barbecue, baked beans, slaw, chips, bread, and tea or lemonade. The church is at New Hope and Hickory roads, Fayetteville.
Holly Grove plans Fall Festival
Holly Grove A.M.E. Church will have a Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., featuring food, games, a yard sale and much more. Holly Grove is at 400 Holly Grove Church Road, Peachtree City.
The Rock plans Homecoming, revival
The Rock Baptist Church will celebrate its 125th anniversary with Homecoming and a revival beginning Sunday, Oct. 7. Homecoming service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and conclude with lunch, testimonies and special music. Revival services will begin Monday, Oct. 8 and will continue through Wednesday, Oct. 10, with services at 6:30 p.m. nightly. Dr. Ron Ledbetter and L.C. Lane will lead the services. The Rock is at 1392 Sandy Creek Rd., off Ga. Hwy. 74, north of Tyrone.
Southside Baptist will celebrate Homecoming
Southside Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming this Sunday, Oct. 7, beginning with the morning service at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Sunday school classes. Gospel singing will be provided by The Patriot’s Quartet and Pastor Paul Carder will present the message. A noon meal will follow in the fellowship hall. No evening service will be held. Southside Baptist is at 1332 Ga. Hwy. 92 South, about a mile and a half south of the Fayetteville city limits.
Fayetteville First UMC to bless the animals
Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will host a Blessing of the Animals service on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 4:30 p.m. The service will be held outside the Family Life Center. COS asks for 47-cent offering
This weekend at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Peachtree City, each worshiper will be invited to contribute 47 cents for Hurricane Katrina relief. Many devastated areas are in the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, of which Christ Our Shepherd is a part, and local funds are being exhausted. Dividing the needs by the number of members in the synod produced the 47¢ figure. Crews from Christ Our Shepherd have been among the 18,546 ELCA volunteers helping to repair homes. ‘This Hope’ to perform at Flat Creek
Flat Creek Baptist Church will present “This Hope,” a five member male group, in concert, beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. The group has been singing professionally since 1996, and sings a blend of a cappella and accompanied music. Flat Creek Baptist Church is at 161 Flat Creek Trail, between Ga. Hwy. 54 and Tyrone Road.
