The American Red Cross is having a blood drive Sunday, October 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Blood donors must be 17 or older (there is no age limit), weigh 110 pounds, and in general good health, but there are some medication limitations. Cancer survivors who have been cancer-free for 5 years after their last treatment can also donate. If you are not sure you can donate, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE with any questions.

Chris Burkett, from Troop 73, is leading this blood drive in order to fulfill some of the requirements to earn his Eagle Scout Rank from the Boy Scouts of America.

Please remember to: bring a photo ID, eat a good breakfast and drink plenty of fluids before donating.

With a goal of 113 pints, Chris and the Red Cross invites everyone to come out and donate blood. Each pint can save up to 3 lives. Every donor will receive a free t-shirt.
