Old Campbell Homecoming is Oct.6Mon, 10/01/2007 - 8:26am

It is that time of year again. And it is going to start early. Festivities for the annual Old Campbell County Homecoming is scheduled for Oct. 6, taking the theme “From the Old to the New,” the event will provide a little something for everyone in the family. The day’s events will begin at 8 a.m. with the Landmark Champion Chase, a 5K race sponsored by Landmark Christian School. The race will be followed by the annual parade through downtown Fairburn. Activities beginning at 11 a.m. will move to the old courthouse on East Broad Street. Arts and crafts booths can be found on the front lawn along with activities for the kids. Many of the activities will be sponsored by Crossroads Church and will include a blow-up slide, face painting, train rides, pony rides and sand art. Food booths will be located on the back lawn, organizers said. The festival will also include live music by the Venturas, the Carla Gomez Band and others. Performances will be held under a 30-foot by 60-foot tent on the courthouse grounds. Volunteers are still needed to assist with the homecoming event.
