Fulton County Dept. of Health and Wellness will begin offering flu shots Oct. 1 at its 12 health centers. Residents will be able to obtain the flu shot at a cost of $25. The department has ordered 14,000 doses of the vaccine and strongly encourages individuals who fall within a high-risk group to get the shot.

Those groups include children ages six months and older, adults ages 50 and older, persons over six months old with certain chronic medical conditions, residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities, healthcare workers involved in direct care, caregivers and those with household contact with children under age five and women who will be pregnant during the flu season.
