The Peachtree City Planning Department and Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board hosted the fourth of seven public forums Thursday night at the Centennial subdivision clubhouse to help plan the future of the city for the next 20 years.

The fourth public forum focused primarily on the existing and proposed development within the West Village.

One of the topics that drew significant interest from those in attendance is the development of sidewalk and multi-use path connections on CSX RR/SR 54 West.

Peachtree City has already had environmental clearance to submit construction plans, said Peachtree City Planner/ Zoning Administrator David Rast. Right-of-way plans have been submitted, and the resubmitted drawings will be returned next week, according to Rast.

“Within four weeks to two-and-half months, we should have right-of-way plans approved,” Rast said. “Then we’ll go through the bidding process. Realistically, it’ll be next year before we have this out to bid. It’s going to be pretty neat once it’s all done. We can’t wait to get it done.”
