A Trike-A-Thon event, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, will be held on Sept. 28 from 9-11 a.m. at Bright Star Learning Center, 245 Clover Reach, Peachtree City, Ga. Lisa Roberts, the event’s volunteer coordinator, said everyone is invited and encouraged to participate. By participating in or attending the event, attendees will help raise funds for the world’s premier pediatric cancer research center. These funds will help St. Jude in its ongoing fight against childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases. The children at Bright Star will be collection pledges for the amount of laps they can go. You can help by pledging per lap or just donating a dollar amount. “Our goal in holding this event is to help the children of the world who are stricken with diseases like cancer, AIDS, sickle cell disease and other catastrophic diseases,” said Roberts. “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a world leader in the fight against these diseases, and they have made great progress because of the help of people who participate in and donate to events like Trike-A-Thon.” St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares it’s discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fund-raising organization, through events such as the Trike-A-Thon. For more information, visit www.stjudes.org.
