The Peachtree City Dog Park and Georgia Heartland Humane Society are inviting all animal lovers to join them for the 5th annual Doggie Dash Sept. 29 at Shakerag Park in Peachtree City. Doggie Dash is a 5k walk to benefit homeless and abused animals in our community. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10:30 a.m. "Start the fall season off by spending some quality time with your four-legged "best friend" while helping less fortunate animals," said Ginger Kenney of the city’s dog park. After the walk, enjoy the music, have some refreshments, visit our vendors and pick up a ‘goodie bag’ for your canine companion". All dogs that participate will receive a free Doggie Dash scarf. Participants may walk alone or with their dog. There is no registration fee. Georgia Heartland Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill organization that works to end the suffering of homeless and abused animals, like George and Sofi, two blind puppies born to a stray mother. Without Georgia Heartland's help, these puppies would have never survived. You can help provide a second chance for a stray animal by simply picking up a registration brochure with a pledge sheet. Take the pledge sheet to school, to work, to church to your club, ask you friends, neighbors and relatives to make a donation of $5 or $10 to help a homeless animal. Raise as much money as you can, but if you raise at least $50 you will receive a free Doggie Dash T-Shirt. Bring your pledges to Doggie Dash and join in the fun, or drop them off and pick up your T-shirt.
