The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater will hold their annual end of the summer auction on Friday, Sept. 22 and Saturday, Sept. 22 before the Peter Frampton concert to benefit the Fayette County Humane Society.

Every year, the Fred auctions off autographed paraphernalia from bands that performed at the amphitheater during the summer and items donated by sponsors and community businesses. The profits are then donated to a charitable organization. This year, the Fayette County Humane Society has been chosen as the recipient of the funds raised by amphitheater patrons.

“We are excited to be the beneficiary of this year's silent auction proceeds,” said Stephanie Cohran, president of the Fayette County Humane Society. “As an all volunteer, non-profit organization (not affiliated with the Fayette County Animal Control), we rely solely on financial support from our donors. Through events like this, we are able to raise money to provide assistance to injured and homeless animals, pay for veterinary costs of our pets available for adoption, and provide spay/neuter assistance to anyone who requests it. (Funds permitting).”

Incorporated in 1973, the Fayette County Humane Society is the oldest non-profit humane organization in Fayette County. The humane society works with the Fayette County Animal Shelter to save homeless animals, often rescuing pets from the facility when a foster home is available. The pets are then put up for adoption after they are tested, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered (or arrangements are made for spay or neuter).

The two night auction will feature a silent auction with several items, including a membership to Canongate Golf Clubs, Thrashers tickets donated by Delta Community Credit Union, a gift basket from Lexus of South Atlanta, a private dinner for 10 at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, a suite to an Atlanta Hawks game donated by TicketMaster and many other great items to bid on. Closing out the silent auction will be a live auction featuring autographed guitars and framed autographed CDs from concert series I and II.

Tickets to the Peter Frampton concert can be purchased at the amphitheater box office, at any TicketMaster Retail Location, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 404-249-6400. Tickets are $48 for reserved seats and $32 for lawn seats.
