One Magnolia Lane, a specialty store located at The Avenue in Peachtree City, is hosting Power of Pink events October 4 and October 5 to celebrate the launch of Brighton’s new limited edition jewelry collection that benefits breast cancer charities. The events will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m on both days, and everyone is invited, especially those who want to support breast cancer research and awareness. Brighton has also pledged to donate $5 for each $50 Power of Pink necklace and bracelet sold to breast cancer charities. For each $34 earrings sold, Brighton will donate $2.50. One Magnolia Lane plans to match Brighton’s donations and will direct contributions to BRA, a local women’s bikers’ group that support and provides education to young women concerning breast cancer. They provide flyers on self exams and discuss the issues of breast cancer awareness among our youngest candidates for the disease --- those still in high school. A representative from Brighton will be at the store October 4 to provide more information on Power of Pink. There will also be food, samples and drawings for Brighton prizes throughout both days. For more information, please call the store at 770-486-9494. This year’s Power of Pink collection uses semi-precious rose quartz beads and hollow pierced silver caps, but there is even greater beauty in the meanings they hold. The rose quartz stones are a soothing, calming crystal that is said to promote love and healing. Words have the power to send messages of love and healing as well, so the inscriptions on the charms remind the wearer to have gratitude for WHAT IS right now: “live life to the fullest," "here & now," "enjoy every moment.” Brighton's designers believe that, "Even the hardest moments can be a gateway to discovering a new you." They want to support every woman, no matter how serious the situation she is facing. Every glimpse of this jewelry allows each woman to connect with the words and be reminded that she can always be present to, and grateful for, the joy of living To Brighton, the Power of Pink is about much more than selling pieces of jewelry; it represents the power that each of us has to make a difference in the lives of the women who mean so much to us. Anyone can be diagnosed with this disease – not only the elderly and middle-aged, but thousands of women in their 20s and 30s. In the U.S. alone, an estimated 240,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2007; 11,100 under age 40. Each year, 40,000 women die of breast cancer – 1,100 are under 40 years old. Brighton’s involvement in this cause speaks to the core values of the company. When Brighton’s owners Jerry and Terri Kohl started their business over 30 years ago, they resolved to have a different kind of company that would be run from the heart, by caring about and personally servicing the specialty stores that sold their products and the consumers who purchased them. So it was only natural that, when they heard the stories of families struggling with the challenges of breast cancer, they wanted to help. As manufacturers, they decided it made sense to create jewelry that would raise money for the charities. Believing that “the more we all give, the sooner we’ll reach a cure,” Brighton’s intention is to set off a chain reaction of donations to breast cancer charities – which doesn’t stop with the stores and the events, but continues to spread awareness that results in many individuals giving additional donations to the charities. login to post comments |
