The internationally renowned Atlanta Shakespeare Company is bringing “Shakespeare in Your Own Backyard” to Fayette to benefit the county’s public high schools. The professional acting troupe will perform “Macbeth,” Shakespeare’s chilling tale of blood and ambition, at McIntosh and Sandy Creek High schools. The performances will follow a month-long educational tour in each of Fayette’s high schools where the troupe will give hands-on workshops in English classes on the Shakespearean language. The professional actors of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company will give performances of “Macbeth” beginning September 22-23 at McIntosh High with the final performance on September 29 at Sandy Creek High. Tickets are $10 in advance for general admission and $12 at the door. A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the county’s high schools. Students can purchase advance tickets from their high school English teacher or on the night of each performance. For more information on the performances, contact McIntosh High, 770-631-3232, Sandy Creek High, 770-969-2840 or the Atlanta Shakespeare Company, 404-874-5299, ext.0 login to post comments |
