Cortland Rice Lowe

Cortland Rice Lowe, 80, Peachtree City, died Sept 1, 2007. He was born Sept. 30, 1926 in Albany, Ga., son of John Harvey and Anne Lowe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan "Jodi" Lowe, 1999, and brothers, William Lowe, Charles Ferguson, and John Ferguson. He was graduated from Georgia Tech in 1950 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was retired from the W.R. Grace & Company after a 34 year career. He went on to work as a real estate auctioneer on St. George Island and established Lowe Realty in Tallahassee, Fla., in 1990. A memorial service was held at the Oglethorpe Hill chapel. Survivors include his children, Cortland and Gloria Lowe Jr., Karen Lowe and Bill Evans, and Mark Wilbanks; grandchildren, Cortland Lowe III, Jonathan Lowe, Russ Evans, Mallory Evans, and Constance "Cotton" Lowe. H. M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, was in charge.
