Butch Prosser, head coach of the McIntosh Chiefs varsity football team for the past six years, has stepped down from that position, though he will continue to serve as a teacher at the school through the remainder of the school year.

The Chiefs have never had a winning record under Prosser, finishing this season with a 3-7 record and last year with a 4-6 record with one of those wins coming as the result of a forfeit. The Chiefs' overall record since the 2001 season is 13-37.

Prosser also served as the head coach of the boys lacrosse team last year in their first year of play.

The search for a new head football coach will begin immediately. Prosser came to McIntosh after serving as the defensive coordinator for the Mt. Zion (Jonesboro) Bulldogs.
