When McIntosh ace Morgann Kidd is in the pitcher’s circle, it’s usually a long night for the opposition, something Region 2-AAAA rival Fayette County found out the hard way Thursday in Peachtree City. The Lady Tigers lost 5-0.

Kidd was masterful, turning in a one-hit, 16-strikeout, complete-game performance. It was one of the best games of the senior right-hander's career.

The only hit Kidd gave up was Chasity Welch’s third-inning single. She struck out at least one batter in every inning, and retired the side in four different innings.

Kidd’s control was impeccable; she didn’t allow any walks.

Her teammates gave up all the run support she would need in the first inning.

Nicole Fox walked and stole second to lead off the inning. Amber Shaw (2-for-3) followed with a sacrifice bunt that moved Fox to third.

A passed ball sent Fox home to make it 1-0.

McIntosh struck again in the third, with Shaw hitting a triple that scored Linsey Hearn, who had hit a leadoff single, and Holly Houghton (2-for-3) hitting an RBI single.

Fox completed the scoring with a two-run double in the fourth.
