Lauren Attaway Veach, singer, songwriter, teacher and author, will lead a free conference for women at South Metro MInistries in Sharpsburg on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The conference, “Discovery to Recovery,” invites women to “Get Real . . . Revealed . . . and Healed!”

“We want to invite women from the community, whether they go to a church or not. We think you’ll find this conference to be a blessing,” said Peter Chimento, director of The Recovery House at South Metro Ministries.

Veach will lead praise, worship and teaching. According to conference materials the theme is, “Self Discovery to God’s Recovery — How and why we should make a purposeful decision to look into the mirror of our lives so that we can find the courage to move from oppression, helplessness and hopelessness to a place of confidence, joy and serenity.”

Among other topics, Veach will speak on her new book, “Taking Your Place” (A Guide To Taking Your Life Back). In the book, Lauren offers wisdom on how to establish boundaries for life situations. She offers step-by-step instructions on how to move past fear, pain and discouragement to a place of peace, no matter where you are in your struggle.

A copy of the book will be provided at no charge during the event.

South Metro Ministries is a Church of God Congregation located at 3935 Ga. Hwy. 34, near Thomas Crossroads in Sharpsburg.
