The Whitewater Wildcats scored in the first minute of their game against Newnan, but couldn’t hold the lead in the second half.

Chris Asbury ran back his first of three interceptions for 30 yards and a touchdown. Though Newnan would tie the game early in the second quarter, J.C. Jennings a defensive lineman and kicker for Whitewater hit field goals of 52 and 37 yards to give the Wildcats a 13-7 lead at the half.

Late in the third quarter, Newnan ran three yards for a touchdown. Their offensive line kept the pressure on Whitewater in the fourth quarter and continued to open up holes for their running game. The Cougars added another touchdown halfway through the fourth quarter and held on for the win
