The Fayette County Youth Council will host a Back-to-School/ Membership Social at the Holiday Inn Express located at 140 Lanier Avenue East on the downtown square of Fayetteville on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 4-8:30 p.m. All youth between the ages of 14 to 20 are invited to attend.

A Juvenile Justice Awareness Forum is planned for Saturday Oct. 27, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Fayette County Library. The purpose of the forum is to educate local youth about Georgia law and school restrictions that pertain to young people. A list of panelists includes juvenile attorneys, juvenile court judges, police officers and juvenile probation officers. Teen crime is on the rise and this forum will provide helpful information on crime prevention.
