Allen wins coaching award

Pam Allen

Special Olympics Georgia recently named Pam Allen of Fayette County Outstanding Coach at the 2007 Distinguished Service Awards Banquet.
Allen has been coaching for Fayette County Special Olympics for over five years. She has coached many different sports, including soccer, floor hockey and softball.

She is currently coaching the Master’s level softball team. Master’s teams consist of intellectually disabled adults who are age 22 and up.

Debbie Parrish, local Special Olympics coordinator, sings Allen’s praises. “Pam has been able to take a group of athletes with such diverse age differences and disabilities and turned them into a wonderful team. She is not just about competition, She’s able to make the team have fun while learning the sport.”
