By next Friday afternoon, Peachtree City residents will have a clear picture of just who will seek election to one of two seats on the City Council. Qualifying for the positions starts at City Hall Monday at 8:30 a.m. and ends Friday at 4:30 p.m. The qualifying fee is $180. The seats are currently held by Mike Harman, who was recently appointed by council to replace Judi-ann Rutherford, and Stuart Kourajian, who has announced he will not run again. So far Harman has indicated he will run for the seat, as have retiree Don Haddix, college student Timothy Hoyle and auto salesman Michael King. A fourth potential candidate, Mark Hollums of Robinson Bend Trail, has filed paperwork indicating he intends to accept campaign contributions and a fifth potential candidate, Gerald Nozilo has picked up an information packet about qualifying from City Hall. login to post comments |
