Historic Senoia stages oldies car show September 22Thu, 08/23/2007 - 3:26pm

If you like old cars, lively music, and yummy food, the third annual "Cruisin' to the Oldies" Car Show in Historic Downtown Senoia is a great way to spend a Saturday. This year's event on September 22nd from 2 to 10 p.m. is open to street rods, muscle cars, and motorcycles, as well as antique cars of all kinds. The Varsity will cook their favorite treats from 1 to 8, along with Churn ‘N Scoop Homemade Ice Cream, Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Kettle Corn, and Senoia Coffee Company. Downtown stores will be open late for shopping. Scott Sargeant and Charlie Filkins, "The Car Guys" of “High Octane Radio” 92.5 FM “The Bear,” Channel 10 NU TV, and NBC 38 WLTZ, will entertain and emcee the event, and W.C. Sounds will spin the oldies. This year, Jeff Brewer will give a very special "Tribute to Elvis" concert from 7 to 8 p.m. to kick off a street dance from 8 to 10. Other activities include a judged contest for the cars, with trophies in several categories, a 50/50 drawing, and door prizes for registered car owners. Registration is $10 in advance or $15 the day of the show. Goodie bags go to the first 200 cars registered. Sponsored by Senoia’s Downtown Development Authority, the car show is a fundraiser to benefit the Senoia DDA.
